Body Lift Surgery
It might be massive weight loss or quite simply age has caught up resulting in multiple areas of the body requiring recontouring or a body lift. Common areas requiring attention are the abdomen, hips or loose skin on the under arm area, commonly known as bingo wings. Some people may be concerned with loose skin on the thigh, loose skin on the lateral chest and empty droopy breasts. Whatever the concern and if you think your body does need an MOT or a body lift, we are here to help at our state of the art clinics in the UK.
Body lift – what is the procedure and risks?
You may be concerned with only one area or a full body lift, whatever is concerning you, we can help. If it is multiple areas, we may be able to do more than one procedure at a time. In our experience, when dealing with more than one area at a time, a staged approach is generally required where the operations are planned in combination, this means allowing each area to heal before going on to the next one.
Each patient is very different, because of this, complications or risks are different as well. For example, patients who have had massive weight loss for each operation, the risk of complication is higher and the possibility of requiring revision is higher, even minor problems such as asymmetry or residual folds are higher. Despite some of these challenges, most of our patients find the body lift surgical journey worthwhile and for them personally rising to the challenge of surgical recontouring is worth the effort. Whatever your circumstances are it is worth spending time with the team and the surgeons making sure that all the broader issues are adequately addressed in order to make your body lift surgery as safe and successful as possible.
